Someday

by Joshua Smith

/

about

This is a song written about West Chezzetcook Nova Scotia, the small Acadian town where Joshua grew up.

"Someday" talks about the changes he noticed having returned home after being gone for a while. The old landmarks and hangout spots have changed and new buildings were built where trees and old childhood forts used to be.

This will give you a little glimpse into where Joshua was born & raised.

lyrics

SOMEDAY
INTRO: D/// B7/// Em/// ///
G/// /// A/// ///
D/// B7/// Em/// ///
G/// A/// D/// ///

VS 1
D/// B7/// Em/// ///
Just spending my day on the dock n'
G/// /// A/// ///
I'm skimming a wave with a stone
D/// B7/// Em/// ///
Soon I'll be miles away,
G/// A/// D/// ///
But I know I'll come back here someday

Theres an old yellow house cross the street,
It was there long before even me
Mrs Larue oh she'd smile when she'd say,
You know you'll come back here someday

CHORUS
G/// A/// D/// ///
I'll take my time and see
G/// A/// D/// ///
All this world has to offer me
G/// /// Bm7/// ///
I'll take my time and I'll try to be free
C/// /// A/// ///
But you and I know, just where I should to be

VS 2
Well the government they chopped all the trees
T' make room for the cookie cut shacks
Our ol Forts have all gone away
I knew I'd come back here Someday

CHORUS

Bridge
Gm/// /// /// ///
You better believe that time it slows down
D/// /// /// ///
When I got my feet in the sand
F#m/// /// Bm/// ///
Ya better be ready when I come to town
E7/// /// A/// /// Fmaj#5/A /// ///
Cause I won't be able to staaaaaaay long

VS3
Oh the sun it goes down on the bay,
And the houses they all turn to grey
Soon I'll be miles away,
But I know I'll come back here someday
I know I'll come back here someday
